So right now I have a Nighthawk C7000V2 but recently it started dropping internet connection and my ISP insists it is not on their end (which I doubt). Or maybe we are using too much bandwith that th...

Okay. So I’m really just looking for Cable modem router combo and the CM2000 is just a modem. But the CAX80 is. So you would more so remember the CAX80 for what I need?
Also could you help me better understand the 1GB LAN you mentioned?

So if your ever going to have a ISP speed package of 1.2Gb or higher, the CAX30 will not be a good fit as the LAN ports on the cax30 max out at 1000Mpbs connection rate so the most you'll ever see on a wired PC would be around 900Mpbs or just over. I have this same model using currently now and i get 900Mpbs or just over on my 1Gb/50Mbps ISP service. For ISPs that have the 1.2Gb or higher speed services, you would need a CAX80 which as a 2.5Gb LAN port or the CM2000 that has same port with a high speed supporting router to connect to the CM modem. Something like a RAX120 would be starters.
If your going to have a ISP speep of 400Mpbs on the down, then the CAX30 will work fine here. You could get a ISP speed package up to 1Gb with the CAX30. Anything beyond that, you'll need one of the other models to consider.
