Is it OK to have CAX80 (Nighthawk AX6000) on its side?

I just got a Nighthawk AX6000 WiFi Cable Modem Router (model CAX80-100NAS). I've discovered that it does not fit in its "spot" when standing upright but will if I turn it on its side. Would it be OK to operate it this way (on its side) or would it impact performance, cooling, or any other factors?
If I have to, I can rearrange everything to make it fit standing upright but would prefer not to if not necessary.
Thank you!

Thanks FURRYe38! I suspected that might be the answer. I'm already rearranging to get it to fit upright.
