NETGEAR AC1600 C6250 Ethernet trouble

I just installed the C6250 cable modem/outer. The wifi works fine and the modem connects to the internet fine. The eithernet won't stay connected.

I have tried my old eithernet cable and the new one from the box and no change.

I have tried both cables in both ports on the modem and no change. both flicker the yellow light but nothing sable.

Eithernet adapter driver and firmware are up to date.

Is this an IP or DNS configuration issue? Both the router and CPU are set to get an address automatically. I have made no changes and did a factory reset at least once. Please help.

Is this happening on both ports on the modem?
