Netgear CM2000 cannot connect to 5G via Xfinity using ASUS Router
I have installed a new Netgear CM 2000 (connecting to an ASUS RT-N66U wireless N900 router) to take advantage of the 5G that Xfinity offers. When I try to enter my required "network security key", it states the network security key is incorrect, please try again. I have used the default key that is stamped on the bottom of the modem and I have tried my ASUS 4G network key and neither of them work. I then tried to change my security network password and it also does not connect.
Can anyone please advise?
Network key would be something on your ASUS router and not the cm modem.
Contact Asus about that.
FYI, this model router doesn't support any ISP speeds past 1Gb due to the WAN and LAN ports being only 1Gb.
You'll need to upgrade your router to someting that has multi gig WAN and LAN ports to see anything past 1Gb from the ISP. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Gateways/General-info-and-Troubleshooting-for-Cable-Modems/td-p/1530376/jump-to/first-unread-message

- microchip8MasterThe CM2000 is a modem-only device. It does not have WiFi nor a router built-in nor any 5G/4G support. What are you trying to do?
