Netgear router and modem

Ok question so i am wanting to buy a netgear router and modem do i need a coax cable to set up internet or can i connect it via ethernet then connect it to my computer and set wifi on that?

    Who's your ISP? 

    If you're looking for a modem, you first want to make sure its compatible with your isp before buying anything. 

    Have you checked with them on compatible modem/routers?
