What router do you have? AX8 isn't a model.
what firmware is on it?
What modem/gateway is it connected to?
What smart oil gauge is this?
Is this the only device with issues?

Hello, Thanks for responding.
Netgear Cable Modem Router Nighthawk AX8, Model CAX80
Firmware V5.1.1.8
Connected Consumer Fuel Smart Oil Gauge
Yes, this is the only devise with a connection issue. Many other devices; computers, printer, iphones, ipads, tvs, security cameras.
Connected Consumer Fuel sent me a second gauge and i'm having the same issue. I can set it up and get an initial reading but it will not provide any additional readings unless I manually reconnect. It's only 2.4. I tried setting up a guest network with only 2.4 turned on and it still will not stay connected beyond the initial start up. I have the gauge two feet away from the modem/router.
Never had this problem with my 10 year old apple time capsule.
Thanks for you're input. Netgear and Connected Consumer tech supports are just reading from a script and are not offering anything beyond unplugging the router or removing the batteries from the gauge. So frustrating.

got the old apple or a different router sitting around?
Might try sticking them in access point mode and just running the 2.4ghz on it. And just connect the oil gauge to that.
Reading the reviews on it, there was a lot of hit/miss's for people. Quite a few reporting connectivity issues. Makes me curious if its something inherent to the gauge connecting to the AX spec.

Thank you, simple solution. Your suggestions worked great. Been receiving gauge readings for the last five days. Thanks again
