Upgrading to Fiber, what replaces CBR40?

I have a very simple mesh setup. Orbi CBR40 modem/router and RBS20 satellite, Ethernet backhaul, and also using two additional ports on the CBR40 to connect to teleworking computers. We’re upgrading to fiber. Do I need to toss my whole setup and start over or will my satellite be compatible with a new Orbi router / adapter?

Fiber requires a ONT for internet access. You can use the CBR in a faux AP mode if there is a router at the ONT or in between the ONT and CBR in faux AP mode.

I’m guessing that gobbles up an Ethernet port? If I run my cat-6 home network off the router I keep downstream of the ONT, would the CBR40 be happy to use Ethernet backhaul from my satellite while in “faux” AP mode

Yes. One can add a un-managed switch for additional ports. GS105 or 108 is recommended.
