blinking light

i'm trying to connect my new modem and router. the steps tell me to connect the cable to the modem and plug it in and wait for the blinking like to turn solid which proves i'm online. it's been 2.5 hours and the light is still blinking... i have no idea what i'm doing wrong. cm400 is the modem

    well now none of them are connecting... they are cycling through. from none of the lights being on to all of them being on the a second or two and then cuts off again..

      Hello dyl

      I would contact your ISP the modem is looking for a connection and can not find one may want to try another cable outlet.

    tried that too.... still nothing... according to my landlord on their side they don't even see my modem show up in their system..
