c6230 - nighthawk app says cable modem is not found
cable modem was previously activated by nighthawk app and works fine but when I open the nighthawk app it says cable modem is not found.

Maybe you mean you activated it with the ISP's app? The activation of the modem goes through the ISP side activation, not the negear app.
You can use the browser to manage it

I had to call my ISP (spectrum) to activate my network. My problem is that nighthawk no longer finds the modem/router even though the connection is there.

It looks like Spectrum certified firmware isn't new enough to support the app.
