c6300 and comcast

I am on my 3rd 6300 in two years with Comcast. The C6300 works for awhile and then requires reboot/resets  (internet drops) which become more frequent and evidently stops working all together. Comcast of course says not their problem. One theory is Comcast is changeing parameters/settings which are not compatable with non-comcast support equipment. I do not want to use the Comcast router. Suggestions?

Can you post the logs and the power levels from your modem might be able to see some issues with the service.

  • That model is on their approved DOCIS3 list of Comcast APPORVED 3rd party devices. They should easily be able to guide you theough any troubleshooting required of the wifi-modem since it's the same they have supplied in the past as a lease unit. I mean afterall, they do want to keep you as a customer regardless if you lease a wifi-modem from them or not.

Turns out it is a Comcast issue. They will run a new line and then I will install Netgear CM700 modem with Google WiFi.
