ethernet showing not connected on pc on my N600

Question

For some reason out of no where my pc is showing that my ethernet port is not connected when it is. I have reset it, changed cables, tried to hook my second pc up, switched ports on back. Same results on both pcs. Weird thing is, is my xbox is wired and even switching ports and using the other cable and no problems with connectivity. Please help!

Is the port, perhaps, disabled on your PC?

I dont believe so. In fact, no settings were ever changed on either pc I hooked it up to. Honestly I dont remember how to even change that. Whats weird is that my xbox works fine on either connection and both ethernet cables. Literally just worked one day then the next it said the ethernet cable was disconnected.

Are you running Windows? &nbsp;If so, you'll probably want to pull up the Device Manager and make sure the Ethernet card is listed as a Network Adapter. &nbsp;Did you try using a different port on the router?

I did try both ports with different cables as well. I did check the device manager which said it was working properly and set as default. Also reset the router. Still both pcs not recognizing it. One of my pcs is never connected to the internet but the other is always. I thought it could be a virus but nope. I wonder if the router has a fault not allowing it to connect to a windows based pc? its definitely fried my brain. lol

I just realized that you said that both PCs can't connect. &nbsp;That makes it more likely for the router to be at fault. &nbsp;Have you tried doing a factory reset? &nbsp;Otherwise, the router, not your brain, may be fried. &nbsp;:smileyhappy:
