C3000=100NAS Filtering Parental controls
Dear Netgear Community:
Problem. I have a C3000 Modem/router combination. For several years, I used the device with parental controls that worked well..
The controls have no longer functioned for several months.
It is probable, I guess, that the disfunction is a result of Netgear's decision to discontnue any support for parental controls for this product.
I have tried restoring the device to factory settings, establishing an account with OpenDNS directly (not via parental controls) and adjusting the DNS numbers to conform with Open DNS's family filter, or "clean browsing." I have had no luck whatsoever.
I would be very happy to reestablish a router-based filter for my home.
Thank you very much,\,
David

One possible problem in such a case would be a relatively new
web-browser feature: "DNS over HTTPS". With that feature enabled, the
web browser will ignore/bypass the DNS-server settings in the router,
and use some DNS server(s) of its own choice. Which would defeat your
attempt to use OpenDNS.

Browser update?
A little Web searching for terms like, say:
"DNS over HTTPS" <your_browser_name>
might find something interesting. (No bets, but it's a possibility.)
