C7000 Tracking Data Usage
I have a Netgear router C7000, I need to check the individual data usage, as per Xfinity the data usage double this month and they can't check the details of the data because I don't use their router. I was told I can check it through Net gear, I can't find a way to do it.
Can you please guide me how to do it.
thank you

I have a C6220 model model and our data is outrageous, 1.5 TB per month. According to Xfiniti, we would need to be streaming movies 24/7 to hit that and we do not. We aren't on anywhere near that. Of course they can't tell us, either, wht devices are using data and was hoping to figure out how to do it here. Hopefully someone can help us?

I too recently experienced an INSANE amount of data usage and actually went over my month 1000GB this past month. First time this has ever happened. I am pretty savvy when it comes to tech, network, device config so I immediately started investigating. Aside from all the DoS, Teardrop, SynFlood logs (whole other issue :smileymad:), I started monitoring my network traffic via a tool for Mac called PeakHour 4. I installed this tool January 31st. What I have discovered over the first four days of February is shocking to say the least. Some might even say it would be worthy of a lawsuit against Netgear. I found that within these first for days of my new data cycle, I had already used right at 200GB of data. Tonight I have discovered the culprit. First I blocked every single device from my network with the exception of the laptop I am on right now. I also unplugged every hardwired device from the modem. With PeakHour 4 open on this laptop, I was still seeing a spike in data download on a regular interval. Continuing through the Advanced settings of the router, looking for any clues, I disabled all of the ReadyShare features under USB Storage > Advanced Settings. To my surprise, the data usage on my network immediately dropped to nearly nothing. Wow, I thought. Lets see if this was really it or coincidence. I unblocked all of my wireless devices AND plugged back in my hardwired devices. With 3 wired and 10 wireless devices currently connected to the modem, I am consistently using less than 10MB per 15min interval over the last 45min.

I hope this helps any of you that are experiencing the same issue with ridiculous, unexplained data usage. I am glad I was able to catch this before going over my Xfinity data again this month.

That sounds great. My router is set to "basic" for ReadyShare. Is that what you recommend, or is there a way to turn it off all together? Thanks!
