Have you tried to go to yahoo.com using the Ip address which is 206.190.36.45

Using the IP address on the IPAQ, I now get a certificate notice, which I accept, and then I get a progress bar that stalls. So I tried the same IP address on a Windows 7 and Windows 10 Pro PC, and I get a watermarked page with this message in the address bar:

This is progress, I think. Never got the progress bar on the IPAQ before. Seems like DNS might be part of the problem?
I still can't connect to Yahoo.com on the IPAQ. Strangely, I can't connect to Yahoo.com on either of the Win7 or Win10 laptops using the IP address. Both work fine with URL www.yahoo.com. I'm trying to isolate the problem to a router setting or possibly something in Comcast's security or DNS settings. I have no specific restrictions on my router...

Have you tried to Ping or tracert www.yahoo.com in your CMD prompt to see if there is a point where the connection drops off?

The last thing I could suggest is to make the C3700 a modem only and plug the PC directly into it via ethernet and then try to go to yahoo this will tell us if its a issue with your ISP or the router itself. You can find the setting under Advanced-Administration-Router Mode.

Thanks, Darren, but the IPAQ doesn't have an ethernet connection -wifi only. The PC connects fine to yahoo.com via wifi or ethernet. In a new twist, I tried a second IPAQ and it won't connect to yahoo.com either...
