Can't connect to simplisafe base

Today I attempted to setup my new simplisafe base and camera to my wifi network. While attempting this I have reset my modem/router, changed the 5ghz and 2.4ghz ssid's and passwords so they are different. I contacted simplisafe and they feel it is a network issue on my end. both devices detect the SSID but when entering the password correctly they state "incorrect password". any help on what to try next would be greatly appreciated. Model is a c7800 firmware is V3.01.43
