High Ping In League of Legends and Other Games

Been having a lot of high pings when I'm gaming online such as League of Legends and Final Fantasy XIV. Most noticeable in League of Legends because I can monitor the ping ingame. I'm located in Sacramento, California.

ISP: Comcast Xfinity 600mbps (speedtest.net shows ping: 9ms, download: 715mbps, upload: 24mbps)

Modem: CM1100 Nighthawk with firmware v7.01.01
Router: RAX45 (the model listed in the title is the closest available to select for posting) with firmware v1.0.5.106_2.0.70

My ingame ping on average is 68ms to 69ms, but lately has been hovering around 75ms-90ms which becomes unplayable. My friends that live in the same town are getting around 30ms on average in League of Legends with same ISP. I used to see 30ms a few years back when I was renting a house here, but ever since I bought my house a year ago, my ping has been around 69ms on average. Thought it was normal since League of Legends servers were moved to Chicago, but my friends just confirmed their pings are around 30ms yesterday. Downloading files, watching Netflix, other videos, and streaming musics are all fine.

Below is a link to photos of my modem settings; tried inserting pictures, but it gets broken with a triangular image. I was wondering if anyone can take a look and let me know if there is anything that looks out of place. In the mean time, I have a technician coming out to look next week.

Your modem has some errors in the line. Not a ton but some.

Start with removing any amplifiers, signal attenuators, or splitters from the coax.
From there check the line for kinks, damage, moisture in the line.
Check the connectors for improperly made ends, foil touching the copper coax line, bad/old/cheap connectors, or corroded connections. Replace them if you do.
If you can, simply connect the modem right where the coax comes into the home. This prevents wiring in the home from being the issue. And some ISP’s charge if the wiring issue is in the home. So this helps prevent this.

that can help with the modem.

Not sure if you're issue is the modem though if your ping times are low when directly connected.

You tried it that way correct? Directly wiring the gaming console into the modem and testing speeds/ping?
