RAX80 - CM1150v port aggregation cancels wired iMac ethernet (OK if single cable router-modem link)
RAX80 & CM1150v with aggregated link & gigabit Xfinity giving me consistent gig+ speeds using Xfinity app. Imac wired to RAX80 cannot complete a speedtest due to ethernet disconnecting ("fix": ...

RAX80 arrangement: WAN port & port #1 are LAG to modem; iMac is port #3 cabled direct without switch; port #2 is an unmanaged switch; ports #4 & #5 are managed switches (because ports #4 & #5 "must be" managed switches if used).
Other devices still function on LAN after iMac disconnects... for instance a wired Dell laptop accesses the web via router / network; various WIFI devices unaffected as well. Meanwhile Xfinity app (on iPhone, WIFI to RAX80) says speed 1.2 Gb/sec over LAG to modem / web.

The iMac problem persists unabated both using one of the managed switches AND with an unmanaged switch close-coupled to the iMac as a signal-booster/filter. Not many stones left unturned here.
Please note that a trip to my (nearby) Apple store lugging the iMac netted a clean bill of health from the diagnostics test (only mouse & keyboard connected) & ran fine on their network after a network "location" change (copy & rename to preclude corruption). Observations: 1) diagnostics does not involve ethernet; 2) their network was probably not Netgear LAG; 3) Apple not off the hook & they are investigating at the engineer level via movies and logs of events surrounding occurence.

So, does the LAG configuration work with other wired devices and with out the mac being connected?

LAG works with or without the iMac ( and with ethernet port up or broken). Modem / LAG uptime 15 days before interuption for phone provisioning and 5 days since. The Xfinity iphone app shows speeds of 1150-1200 Mb/sec on gig account over LAG, or 850-940 Mb/sec over one/either leg. Knock on wood: LAG itself flawless.

I'd say it's something with either the RAX router or Mac...very odd to see that though...
