Netgear N600 WNDR3400v3 not achieving full speeds

I have 100mbps internet service. When i hook directly into my modem via LAN i get about 120Mbps download speeds. When I go through the router on LAN, 2.4, or 5.0 I cannot seem to excheed 50Mbps download, and this fluctuates as low as 10Mbps.
I have updated firmware, disabled guest networks, disabled QoS, and restarted many times. This doesn't seem to be a WiFi configuration issue because the exact same slowness problems are experienced on the LAN line. Any ideas?

The LAN ports on the WNDR3400v3 are 10BASE-T or 100BASE-Tx. That up to 100 Mbps.
>>> WNDR3400v3 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<
So your Internet is now faster than your router. You need one that handles 1000BASE-Tx, 1000 Mbps.

Re: Netgear N600 WNDR3400v3 not achieving full speeds
Well, that's too bad. This thing wasnt cheap.
Couple that with how **bleep**ty their phone support is and it looks like I'm buying an ASUS. Should have bought one instead of this hunk.
Thanks Michael.

Re: Netgear N600 WNDR3400v3 not achieving full speeds
It is surprising that Netgear was still selling 100BASE-Tx kit that recently. The manual is dated June 2014.
Anyone with a modern PC, in the past decade or so, will have 1000BASE-Tx LAN ports, which raises the questions as to why anyone would buy a 100BASE-Tx router.
You may still be able to use it with a router as an access point. Then again, its wifi capability is also well behind the current norm.
