I have just recently experienced this same Data Usage problem with Comcast. For many, many months I used around 300GB of data. Then all of a sudden in July-August timeframe they turned-on Data Usage Monitoring and within two months my usage magically climbed to over 1.1TB. Our usage habits did not change. This is clearly a scam by Comcast to generate extra revenue. Netgear provides absolutely no help in combating this pillaging of their customers.
Monitoring data usage BY DEVICE is a requirement, not an option, now that Net Neutrality rules the land. Any Router vendor not providing that feature as a standard will soon be left behind.
