2 Netgear XS728T switches reboot after seg fault at the same time daily
I have 2 XS728T switches that have started rebooting at ~9:30AM EST daily. The issue appears to have started this week.
Troubleshooting steps so far:
- updated firmware to latest (6.5.1.51)
- reset switch password
- enabled log to flash in order to catch final error text:
%SYSLOG-F-OSFATAL: caught segmentation fault exception at address 0x10 signal-num = 11 (SIGSEGV) signal-code = 1 (SEGV_MAPERR) reg[00] = 0x10 reg[01] = 0x910fec2c reg[02] = 0x100 reg[03] = 0x0 reg[04] = 0x1d16004 reg[05] = 0x910febac reg[06] = 0x0 reg[07] = 0x0 reg[08] = 0x87263394 reg[09] = 0x910feb9c reg[10] = 0x910febb4 FP = 0x0 IP = 0x910fec1c SP = 0x910feb68 LR = 0x304eec PC = 0x691f04 CPSR = 0x60000010 Fault Address = 0x10 Trap no = 0xe Err Code = 0x17 Old Mask = 0x2000 ***** FATAL ERROR ***** Reporting Task: TFTP. Todo:
- rebuild switch configuration from scratch
- move management access to a unique VLAN
