Before I open up my NAS for nothing: is there a way to connect a monitor to a RN422? Previous models has either some VGA or serial connector, but photo like https://community.netgear.com/t5/New-ReadyNAS-Users-General/ReadyNAS-428-memory-upgrade/m-p/1588455/... for the similar RN428 makes me loose hope already.
To be able to install a different OS I'd need some way to debug.

With the latest ReadyNAS, Netgear moved to the more common micro-USB serial connection, which is labeled "UART". See page 86 of the hardware manual: ReadyNAS_OS6_Desktop_HM_EN.pdf.

Re: Connect monitor to RN422
Or are those two black ports mini PCIe ports?
If yes, can I find at least one on the RN422 as well? And would it allow me to use something like :

Re: Connect monitor to RN422
Darn, I completely overlooked the label of that port, mistaking it for a regular micro-USB port. Many thanks.
Since there's no Netgear doc availble on the subject, to use the port: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS-in-Business/ReadyNAS-RN628X-stuck-booting-after...
