Firmware 6.10.5 web interface broken in final release
My RN10200 had a 2tb drive die - so I replaced with two 4TB Seagate Iron Wolf NAS drives. There was a notice that a new version of the firmware was available 6.10.5 so I figured I should update this....
- May 09, 2021
I was eventually able to get Firefox on my laptop to get on the the NAS web interface after doing a lot of playing around clearing caches/histories, etc. So I chose the firmware update feature in the interface to go back to the 6.10.3 version. After a reboot this seem to allow access to the NAS interface from everywhere again. So I'm not sure what the advantages might be of 6.10.5 - but the problems with the web interface seem to negate any improvements that might be in the latest version. So I'd be wary of this available update and treat the latest version as being still in beta.
The 6.10.3 inteface does keep coming up and saying that a later release (6.10.4) is available and do I want to install that. But after my experience with 6.10.5 I think I'll keep replying to ignore the optional update and stick with 6.10.3 that has been stable for a long while.
Regards,
Chuck.

It seems like it's related to apps, if that helps. They may be able to reproduce by installing SMB Plus and Plex server on a test unit.

No. I can confirm its NOT related to installed apps.
I have confirmed a totally clean unit, in factory reset state, with no apps, no nothing on it, not even configured, somehow triggered this bug after initial setup wizard.
I installed 6.10.5 on a RN102. Then factory resetted it completely, it was totally blank, blank harddrives with no data on them, and OS install and everything.
Then did the setup wizard, ergo configuring the unit with admin password, time zone and such.
The instant it loaded the web panel AFTER the setup wizard, it started looping infinitely.
So its not related to any INSTALLED apps as the unit was completely clean.
**BUT**
I noticed 2 things related to apps:
As soon as it tries to load the panel "Recommended apps" - it instantly reloads admin panel.
And second: The panel "Available apps" in the menu, is totally blank. Its however possible (if you get it to stop looping randomly) - to install apps manually by uploading .deb files. Installing apps does not in itself trigger reload.
So it seems its related to apps somehow, like it cannot connect to netgear's app repo, and as a consequence, tries to reload the web interface in a attempt to "fix" the problem.

Great investigating there. Hopefully that helps pinpoint the issue.

OK, you say it triggered "after initial setup wizard". So, not completely factory fresh, but close. Something you selected in the wizard may also be a factor.

Only thing I changed from default is enable 24 hour clock.
That is ONLY thing I changed from default except for setting a password.

I changed my 214 to 24-hour time, and it had no effect, so it's not that, at least by itself.
No change in the timezone? Since this does seem to be related to an accelerated time-out, that might be relevant. I've already just set it to be wrong and that had no impact.
