NAS to replace Netgear ReadyNAS NV+

Hi, Can someone recommend a Readynas and drives? I need to replace my old Readynas NV+. I need about 4 tb of mirrored storage. Primay usage will be for photo files (2 TB) and about 1TB audio file...

Thank you very much for that info. I decided I would purchase the RN214, so I have been trying to find one online! it appears they are not to be found. I can only find one available new, it is the corrrect price, but it ships from the UK. Are they all mfg. here in the US? Would I have any problems? I cannot find any other vendor including Netgear itself that has one for sale! thanks.

I just had an interesting chat with Netgear Tech Supp. It seems that the reason the RN 214 is unavailable is because it is EOL. Discontinued. Netgear appears to be getting out of the Home NAS market. Not sure about the Business end. Be nice if Netgear would inform shoppers in its store that they are looking at specs for a discontinued product. Interesting also is the recommended upgrade for RN 214 is the RN 424 which is also out of stock at netgear and unavailable online as well.

There's been some rumors about this floating around, and lack of inventory/high prices is the reason I suggested that you also check out competing brands.

I agree that Netgear should make some clear statements about their plans here.

FWIW, the only RN212 and RN214 models listed here are ones that comes with Netgear-supplied consumer-grade disks (that is what the "D" in the part number means).
