Unable to access my NAS from Linux (was working previously)

Have you tried rebooting the NAS?
Does the Music share still appear in /etc/exports?
StephenB- I have now rebooted the NAS device but still I cannot view the shares (via the shortcuts that I had previously placed on my desktop).
Sandshark- I cannot see an 'exports' folder or file under /etc. Should I see this with ls /etc/exports ?
EDIT: After rebooting, I seemed to be able to get onto the NAS admin page but a few seconds later, I got an error and could not re-load the admin page. So I went to the NAS box and displayed its IP - somehow, it has changed from 192.168.1.41 to 192.168. 1.42. Changing to that address in my browser has once again allowed me to get to the admin page. But clearly I now need to figure out how to allocate a fixed IP from my router and set the IP inside the NAS box.
