What version of Debian is 6.9 and 6.10

I have upgraded from 6.6 to 6.9 and must reinstall my virtualbox installation. In order to recompile, i have to know what version of Debian we are running--is it still the Debian 8 "Jessie"  for 6.9?...

    6.10.0 (RN524) says 

    RN524 kernel: Linux version 4.4.163.x86_64.1 (root@blocks) (gcc version 8.3.0 (Debian 8.3.0-2) )

Hi funglenn, you will find that for your Nas in the kernel.log searching for string "debian". Below is info from logs I downloaded recently.

My Nas (RN426) on 6.9.5 says

Apr 09 20:22:20 nasname kernel: Linux version 4.4.157.x86_64.1 (root@blocks) (gcc version 8.2.0 (Debian 8.2.0-12) ) #1 SMP Wed Dec 19 09:35:08 UTC 2018

while the one (RN204) on 6.10.0 says

Mar 22 09:28:54 nasname kernel: Linux version 4.4.157.alpine.1 (root@blocks) (gcc version 8.2.0 (Debian 8.2.0-11) ) #1 SMP Wed Dec 19 09:40:38 UTC 2018

    Thanks. that makes it a bit easier. interesting how 6.9 is a newer version of Debian than 6.10

      It isn't on my systems.  See my post above.

       

      I am confused on Retired_Member's rn426 finding though.

        On second reading, I see that his 426 is running 6.9.5.  So that is explained.
