Hi MaryAnnB,
Please try the following steps and check if it works.
1. Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage Windows Credentials
2. Add a Windows Credential
3. Enter the directions to the router and the router's user name and password. See example below:

admin
password
4. Click on OK

I'm sorry Dexter, I don't know what you mean by the "directions to the router".
