Which router do you want to control?
You have to set it up there first.
If you visit the support pages:
you can feed in the model number and find all the documentation for your hardware.
Then look for Remote Access. You have to do various things to get it to work. The manual for your device should explain what you have to do.
Be warned, not all hardware has this feature.

What michaelkenward said is correct. You would need to be where the chosen router is. If you can update us on what router you are specifying that would be great.
