AX1800 4-Stream WiFi 6 Mesh Extender suddenly stopped working
After working perfectly for a few months the Router symbol’s light continuously swapped between red and green and it stopped working. I’ve tried factory resetting it, I’ve tried just reconnecting it but the NETGEAR_EXT wifi never shows up, and I’ve tried connecting it straight from the router with an Ethernet cable but nothing works. Please help.

Its only the router led thats alternating red/green?
Did you push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while powered on?
When its hardwired to a router, it needs its setup re-ran to be setup in access point mode.- DwobDwobInitiateI replied to this earlier by email and I’m not sure if you replied to it because the email turned into some weird website transcript thingy. So in case you didn’t see I said if I plug the extender into the router then do the generic setup on the Nighthawk app it should work? It was only the router icon alternating between red and green but now it’s completely disconnected and every light is off besides the power light which is orange. And yes I have reset it.

If the power light is orange, it tends to indicate a corrupt/bad boot process.
You can try recovering it with tftp or nmrpflash.
Are you on Windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walkthrough using a TFTP client. Use the built-in one for Windows 10, though. The video is more of an example of how it's done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash
