Connecting Targa HDD t ethernet port on Wn300RP

I am able to use this to extend wifi signal fine.  Initially with Netgear Router & more recently with one ovided by uplir.   I am not even certain if either of these are possible.   I have tried ...

Thank you.  As I have seen some netgear advice that drives should really only be connected directly and not via extenders I will not pursue this.

 

I have managed to connect a Humax Foxsat HRD successfully but not Ferguson Ariva 150
