IPv6 DAD

Hi community,

i recently rolled out IPv6 in my home network. Unfortunately, my clients connected to the WiFi extender, will ran into problems because of DAD failures (duplicate ip address with auto configuration). How can this be fixed? I found no configuration options regarding IPv6 on the Web GUI.

Thanks,

Amma

    Hello Amma

Have you tried reserving the Ip address of the unit connected to the extender in the router?

      Hi Darren,

thanks for your message. How can I do that? My setup is as follows.

My router is connected to a cable modem (bridge mode) from my provider. His WAN interface gets an IPv6 address via DHCPv6 and a /56 prefix. On the inside are three interfaces, each watching the WAN for a /64 prefix an doing SLAAC for address configuration. On one of those interfaces the repeater is connected.  On wich device do I have to reserve the IP?

      Thanks,

      Amma

You can try just the extenders Ip or both the extender the device.
