Netgear EX8000 Nighthawk X6S Tri-Band Mesh Extender - ISSUE
Ever since I updated the Firmware on my Netgear EX8000 Nighthawk X6S Tri-Band Mesh Extender to V1.0.1.206 it drops the signal after a few days and I need to reset the whole range extender and set up as new. I have it connected to a Netgear AC5300 Nighthawk X8 R8500 and have NEVER had any connectiuvity issues or drops until this firmware update for the EX8000. My house is 1400 sq ft and the extender is less than 20 feet away from the router. Can Netgear or someone please help with this? Maybe the firmware needs to be updated again?

Re: Netgear EX8000 Nighthawk X6S Tri-Band Mesh Extender - ISSUE
Anytime you have issues after a firmware update, its never a bad idea to try a factory reset and reinstall. its a bit of a pain but can fix many issues after firmware changes.
If it doesn't resolve it, you can also downgrade the firmware.
A couple thoughs, questions.
1. What modem are you using? Shouldn't be an issue unless you're in a double nat which is why we ask.
2. firmware on your router?
3. have you tried changing the wireless channel between the extender and the router? maybe there's interference on that channel?
My last though its why exactly you need an extender? The R8500 is quite capable of covering 1400 sq ft (especially if you have it centrally located). Extenders are great for extending coverage in larger homes but they add an additional level of complexity and if you're primary device can cover everything, it might not actually be helping. Have you tried testing with/without the extender to see how much it does benefit?

Re: Netgear EX8000 Nighthawk X6S Tri-Band Mesh Extender - ISSUE
The extender factory resets and I have to reinstall every time is crashes after a few days.
1. My modem is: Arris Surfboard SB6190
2. Firmware on my router is: V1.0.2.130
3. I have not tried changing the channel yet, but will try that. There has never been an issue before this firmware update though.
I need the extender for pushing the signal into my backyard. The house is covered fine by the router, but for teh signal to reach into the backyard I need the extender.

Re: Netgear EX8000 Nighthawk X6S Tri-Band Mesh Extender - ISSUE
You could try downgrading the firmware on the extender. You could also try reinstalling the firmware. When it resets itself, its not reloading firmware so if it was corrupt somehow, the reset doesn't fix the issues.
