Using an X6S with LAN
I am trying to connect a seperate builidng in which I have run a cable out from D-Link router in the house. Can I use the Netgear Nighthawk X6S with the cable to extend my network to my workshop? If so how to I set it up?

Yes, you can do that. Set the EX8000 in AP mode (only way to work hardwired) and follow the standard setup for AP mode.
How far was the run?

Thanks. The run is 300 feet. The shop is a steel builiding with little to no radio signal inside (no FM radio, no WiFi and no cell phone coverage).

300ft. Ouch. The rough limit for ethernet runs is 90-100 meters. And thats with a Cat6 line.

You'll want to do whatever you can to possibly reduce that distance as much a possible.
