Wife pressed the WPS button

My wife thought there was a connection problem with here laptop even though she is hardwired to the router. She pressed the WPS button and now all of our wifi connections do not work. It asks for a password, and she did not set any password. How do we access our router now through wifi???????

  • you need to use pc wired the router and access the router :)

you can NOT use wifi to access router interface if you can NOT connect wirelessly.

login the router and try to check your wireless setting again.
    manual can download at support.netgear.com
  • my computer is hardwired too. I am online and have no problems. Only our upstairs computers and my sons gaming platform are affected. They can not connect without a password now. I have tried default "password" and nothing will let our wireless devices in. How do I get the WPS off? or what would the password be if there was never one set?
  • there is no such thing as default password for wifi

"password" is default password for router's interface.

    user admin
    pass password

login the router and check our wireless setting per said. WPS and encryption BOTH should be working at sometime but need to login and look BOTH WPS and encryption settings.
  • Got it finally. Logged on to the Netgear site and Downloaded the new firmware and applied the "none" for security. The WPS light is now off and all of our wifi devices are working.
