Can u use the nighthawk with a phone service like sprint, Verizon, etc

This should work, yes - so long as your phone has wireless capability (or is a wired VOIP phone) then you'll be able to use it no problem with a Nighthawk of any type.

Talking of a landline (with some DSL service on it), or of an all IP solution like Verizon Fios Digital Voice, or what? Sorry, your question us much to generic.
My answer was based on the fact he used Sprint as an example, which is just a mobile phone as far as I can tell. That should work, as should most Verizon devices.
Still, more detail would be useful here!
