Losing Ethernet connection - But Wifi is ok
Hi,
I am losing internet connection, on wired equipment by ethernet on 2 computers and 2 consoles (PS4 Pro and Xbox One X).
However I still have Wi-Fi as my Phone and Printer still works.
The only way I can get ethernet connection back is rebooting the XR500.
This has happened multi times, over the last 5 days, a friend also with the same router has had this issue.
This is also happening multi times per day.
I have the latest Firmware for the XR500
I am using Virgin Meida Cable connection, which I have done for a long time.
Here is the Log I got from Settings -> Monitoring > Logs before rebooting:

Re: Losing Ethernet connection - But Wifi is ok
Sorry to hear of these drops.
Could you first of all make sure you are on the latest version by checking if a firmware update is available in Settings
Then, could you factory reset set your router in Settings > Administration > Backup Settings, then just click erase
Finally, if you have IPv6 enabled, please could you disable it.
Let us know how you get on. Thanks.

Re: Losing Ethernet connection - But Wifi is ok
This sounds like the issue that has plagued the R7800 for a long time. Given that the XR500 is the same hardware, it's probably the same issue.
Do you have your xbox on instant on mode and plugged directly in? I found that switching that off fixed the issue for me.

Re: Losing Ethernet connection - But Wifi is ok
I did have a feeling it could of been my Xbox One, so I just turned off the Instant On mode, just incase.
I did turn off IPv6 as NetDuma_Jack said.
Regards.
