Night hawk??

Is it worth getting one if I only get 37-44 mbps? Will this get it up or will it stay around the same as it is now??

To little info to be able to tell you.

    1. Are you cable/dsl/fibre? Whats providing service to you?

    2. What speeds are you paying for?

    3. Modem you're using?

    4. Device you're testing on?

    5. Testing over wired, wireless? which band?

    6.Website testing with?

Get what I'm going after? To truly tell you if you can get better speeds with an update requires to us know what your current bottleneck (slow down) is.

  • Is that 37-44mb what you get on average when everybody's using the internet, or is that your speed in an ideal situation?

The XR500 can help you to manage local congestion and combat packet loss, which will make your gaming more responsive, but it probably won't offer you any increase to bandwidth speeds.

As suggested above, there are many factors that can impact your bandwidth, so we have to figure out where the current limitation is. It might be that a new router will increase your bandwidth, but it might be that your current speeds are the maximum you can achieve at your house.
