XR1000 ISP model replacing ISP firmware with Netgear stock firmware
Hi I have an XR1000 Nighthawk router supplied by RCN ISP and I noticed that it's running 2 year old firmware version and some of the filtering features aren't working properly. I'm wondering is there any way to switch the firmware to the stock Netgear firmware instead of the ISP one to have the latest proper firmware on this? Simply manually downloading the firmware and installing didn't work it didn't take the file.
What is a way I could do that? Thanks.

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerI don't think you'll be able to do that unfortunately. I'm checking with the team in regards to updates for the ISP models. I suspect that the ISPs may not want to update too often, if there was a major issue for example it would affect a lot of people.
What are the filtering issues you're having specifically?- JJdubbs77Aspirant
Hi thanks for the reply. Sometimes the filtering doesn't work and I have to manually remove and re-add the device to get it working. After a few tries it works.
I read online someone suggested updating the firmware but since mine is almost 2 years old I figured if there's a way to switch to stock Netgear firmware it would work better on a newer firmware. So there's definitely no way to do this?

There is no way that I am aware of unfortunately.
