nighthawk rax45 trouble connecting to google speakers and bond hub

Hello, I am having some trouble connecting my new nighthawk rax45 wifi router to my google speakers and my bond fan control hub. I have a motorola ac1900 modem with built in wifi. The 2.4g on the motorola has not been work very well in terms of speed. so I wanted to run a seprate wifi router. I turned off the motorola wifi off and am using the night hawk rax45. I was able to connect my nest doorbell, thermostat and b-hyve sprinklers with no problems. I am able to get the speaker to connect or recognize but the problem that im seeing is when the speaker is trying to connect it switches the wifi off for a second ( in the google setup it says that i may lose wifi connection for a second) and will not complete the setup. The same thing happens with the bond setup. It will actually show connection secccessful but shut off the wifi and will not complete the setup. it will cycle the wifi on and off while showing connection successful for a a minute the show error connecting. i have factory rest the google speakers and bond hub, completely removed the devices and tried to reinstall but that did not help. Also I turned on my motorola wifi back on and was able to connect the google speaker and the bond hub to the motorola modem/wifi. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    A couple things.

Turning off wifi doesn't turn off the routing features on the motorola. It causes a double nat.

A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
    1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
    2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
    3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

also, make sure to be on the same 2.4ghz or 5ghz as the devices you're trying to setup. If the device only supports 2.4ghz, have the phone you're using for setup on 2.4ghz.

Some older devices have issues with wpa3 and AX. You can try making sure to use wpa2 security. You can also disable AX on the 2.4ghz.

either of these might help get them connected.

Ok thanks, I don't know much about all this stuff. I was hoping it was plug and play. I will try solution 1 when I get home from work. Hopefully I can find that feature on the modem. Thanks for your help.
