5g Stopped Appearing as an available network on my devices

My R6700v3 has stopped broadcasting the 5g network on all my 5g capable devices. 5g Light on router is lit solidly ( not blinking) but network is no where to be found to connect to. I noticed this within the last few days, but before that everything worked. Any suggestions on how to fix this?  I followed all the instructions on this thread and still nothing https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Wi-Fi-5-AC-Routers/5G-Stopped-appearing-on-my-devices-as-...

What firmware is on it?

Did you try a factory reset?

what all did you try doing?

Firmware- v1.04.128

I did the unplug/plug back in thing, the full factory reset, i contacted my provider to make sure there was nothing wrong with my service (they directed me to check with you about the router), ive tried everything i could.

Here's the weirdest development- after the factory reset, its showing my TV as connected to the 5g network, but nothing else at all, and it still doesn't give me the option to connect anything else when i check wifi on all other devices.

What modem/gateway are you connected to ?

what happens if you change the ssid for the router?

Are you using smart connect

Re: 5g Stopped Appearing as an available network on my devices

sorry, not sure how to find the answers to this for gateway/modem question.  Happy to find if you can show me the way?

regarding ssid- are you asking me to simply change the name of it?

Smart connect- to the best of my knowledge, no not using smart connect.  Usually im given the option to connect to the regular or 5g wi-fi (no longer 5g obviously)

Not sure that the R6700v3 supports smart connect. I checked earlier and saw no mention.

Look for a label on the modem/router. They are rarely anonymous.

Does it have a row of Ethernet ports, often four, on the back? Does it do WiFi?

If so, it is a modem/router or, if it handles the phone too, a Gateway

That is hard to tell without going into the settings and examining them.

The details are easily lost on that one. Many people don't realise that it is active.

But, as I say, despite the "Nighthawk AC1750 Smart WiFi Router" tag, the manual doesn't say it support Smart Connect. That feature comes after your now somewhat ageing router. Your version is from 2018 but the V1 came out in 2014.

Smart Connect seems to have come out about a year later in a couple of fancy routers. It is now widespread.
