Amber Ethernet LED on Modem
Howdy,
I have a Nighthawk R7000 router and CM400 modem. From what I have read here, the amber ethernet LED indicates my connection is 10/100, but the R7000 is supposed to handle 1 Gigabit.
All my lights on the R7000 are white.
Do I have some kind of misconfiguration? Is there a solution to get my ethernet LED green?
Thanks!
have you tried swapping in a new ethernet cable? I've seen sketchy cat 5e only connect at 10/100mbps.

Which LED are you talking about? The LAN LEDs indicate the speed of devices plugged into the LAN ports. They are not related to the link between the router and the modem.
Thanks michaelkenward I'm talking about the ethernet LED on the CM400. Mine is not green. It is amber.

did you try a different cable?
If you direct connect a pc/laptop to the modem, does it connect at gigabit speeds?
