Exclamation points-constantly having to reboot!!

Had router for approximately one year. About a month ago internet stop working (exclamation point on phone and home currently unavailable on televisions and tablets).
After rebooting internet works again. Am having to reboot 3/4 times daily now. Reset router, restarted modem and router. Disconnected the router from phone/reconnected. Still having issues. Not very computer savvy. Please help!!
Checked firmware version-v1.0.4.18_10.1.49

Thank you

What is the model of the router? did you hook up anything new to the network when the problem started happening? do you notice if the modem reboots or goes offline when you lose connection?

      Thank you for the reply!
      Model: r8000

Modem is good, hardwired to laptop and confirmed did not lose signal when exclamation points/ fire tv unavailable occur.

Did download the nighthawk and genie app on phone. I did fiddle around a little with vpn(enabled then unenabled) and access control with the apps. Just confirmed I do not currently have any devices on pause internet.
      Thank you!
