How to update C6300

Modem/routers are usually updated by your ISP
microchip8 is correct. The C6300 gets its updates directly from the isp. The end user can't update it.
you can check if you're on the version your isp supports.
In addition to the other comments – they are correct – you could check other messages about your hardware.
