NightHawk R8000 ethernet working but wifi stops working after several days

Hey,
I've been experiencing an issue with at least the most recent firmware version V1.0.4.68_10.1.75. I'm testing rolling back to V1.0.4.66_10.1.75 as a troubleshoot.
The issue is that the wifi stops cooperating, and disconnecting devices, approximately every week. Wifi devices will have no connection and won't reconnect. Ethernet will continue to work as I have several media streaming boxes connected with wires. Since my laptop is on wifi, I have not been able to look at the admin interface if there are any error messages shown.
My resolution was to power off the router with the power switch, then back on. But wifi devices won't gracefully reconnect to the network. And then the problem will happen again in about a week.
It seems like an issue that @TaniaTariyal experienced in https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R8000-ethernet-working-but-wifi-not-working/... but there was no mention of firmware version or resolution on the problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

did you try a factory reset?
Some have downgraded to the 1.0.4.28 version of the firmware, doing a factory reset, and then reinstalling the router. (disable auto updates). Reason why is some of the r8000's didn't play nicely with netgear armor. this is the firmware version prior to armor
