Nighthawk R7000P Keeps Restarting
As the subject states, my R7000P keeps restarting. It's about a year 10months old so I don't think age is an issue?
This behavior has occurred randomly with no pattern within the past year but recently, it's become much more frequent (about a few times a week vs. maybe once every few months). It used to happen somewhat regularly in the morning time around 9a/10a with the start of the new year but went back to irregular restarting. and it's annoying due to WFH/gaming.
What happens specifically: will be using internet/computer fine for however long and then the internet goes out, the power LED on the far left goes red while the second from the right LED stays white. Then, I think the second LED turns to red, then slowly everything turns back to normal colors and become lit up.
Some things I've tried:
- power cycling (30 seconds to 1 minute)
- hard reset by holding down the button in the back
- changing it's position (was reading that maybe overheating was the issue?)
- updating to latest firmware (was previously on V1.3.1.640 I think before I updated 2 days ago. No issues until it happened again today)
We usually have only maybe 3 active devices using the connection at one -- either mobile phone, one desktop gaming, one streaming or some combination of those 3 so I don't think overheating is an issue.
It's very frustrating. Driving me nuts and I was wondering if anyone had any fixes for this?
Thanks in advance!

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Have you tried reverting back to prior FW version that had been working?

Thanks for your response!
Not sure what MFR stands for but the modem is an Arris SB6103. Modem behavior is fine - nothing happens to it when internet goes down though.
I'll try the wifi channel change and will have to follow-up in a few days if that does or doesn't change anything. Out of curiosity - how would the changing the channels affect the router restarting? From what I understand, changing channels only affects speed. Also, the two desktops are connected via ethernet but their internet still goes down when the router restarts itself so I'm not sure if the channels could be the cause. Again, I will follow-up since I did try this and didn't change include this in my troubleshooting.
We do have quite a few WiFi neighbors as we live in a townhouse but I don't think that's an issue as we haven't had any recent moves by neighbors or changes to surrounding area wifi. I think there's about 8 unique connections/WiFi I can connect to?
I didn't try reverting but that previous FW wasn't really working/I don't think that's the issue since the router was already restarting frequently on previous FW. Updating did not help.

Having wifi neighbors near by can cause the router to reboot to restart and find a new channel thats less congested or less interference is one cause.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
