Nighthawk X4S AC3200 Wi-Fi Cable Modem Router

I have been having internet connectivity issues for a few weeks.  Ive been in touch with my internet provider Spectrum a few times now and they have checked their end and say that its the router.  I have contacted Netgear and made sure the router has its  updates which is done automatically on this router.

My question is, Spectrum is telling me to try set the router channel to another channel like 1 or 6 and not on auto and see if that helps. I cant find anywhere how to do this of if it would even help.

Your thoughts?

Not a very detailed description of anything.

That's nice, but an actual firmware version would convey more useful
    information.

       Where, exactly, did you look?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for "Specify Basic
WiFi Settings".  (Note: "cant" is a word, different from "can't".)

Knowing as much as I do about your (unspecified) "internet
connectivity issues", I can say with complete confidence that I have no
idea whether using a different radio channel would help, but it's a
    pretty easy experiment to run.

Wow!! That answer was very curt, negative and not at all helpful. If I knew what I was doing, I wouldn’t be asking for help! And correcting my grammar?? Really?? Thanks for nothing.

Did you have trouble finding the User Manual section which tells you
exactly how to do what you asked?  Was is unclear in some way?

        > [...] And correcting my grammar?? [...]

Might be more spelling (or lazy typing) than grammar, depending on
exactly what you don't know.  It's a free educational service.  You're
welcome.  (I didn't bother complaining about your misuse of "its", did
I?  Yow.  Some people complain when they're hanged with a new rope.)

        > [...] Thanks for nothing.

You seem to have trouble distinguishing between "nothing" and
"exactly what I asked for (at least)".  This might be a bigger handicap
than bad grammar, but I may be powerless to help with that.
