Nighthawk X65 does not connect through http://routerlogin.com

The model R8000P os NOT the model number on the router - however, the correct model number did not take in the system.  Here is the story:

I’ve just installed a new Nighthawk X65 AC3600 Model R7960P (I purchased the router over a year ago and have just now registered it and discovered there is no support as my registration is over a year from my purchase date).

I am attempting to access the router from the Netgear Nighthawk Android App.

I left the user name as “admin” and changed the factory password; and the router is working.

However, after installation I can’t log from a wireless computer using ‘admin’ and my new password.

In attempting to login via routerlogin.com (and net) I was provided a way to reset the password, which I did, and upon then logging in with my new password it is rejected and a pop up replies with http://routerlogin.net is requesting your username and password. The site says: “Netgear R8000P

As you can see the model is incorrect.

What to do?

You would do better to ditch any mobile app and to use a direct wired connection with the browser graphical user interface (GUI).

    Visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.

Look for the model number on the label on the device.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers about your hardware, in the appropriate section for your device. That's probably here:
