Nighthawk X6S low wifi output

Aloha,

I have a Nighthawk X6S and just upgraded my cable modem to run at 500 Mbps. Then I do a speed test I am only getting 90 Mbps through Wi-Fi sitting next to the router. When I log into the Nighthawk the speed test shows over 500Mbps. I am going to try to hook direct with an Ethernet cable to see if the Mbps improves, but that will not solve the Wi-Fi problem. Any ideas?

Thanks and Aloha

    What model router do you have? X6S isn't a model #. R####?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

What devices are connected to the router and what devices are you using to speed test with?

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
