R7000 AC1900 internet randomly stops working

My internet randomly is turning off for a few minutes then turning back on. It seems to fix by restarting the router. There are no outages in my area, my firmware is up to date and I recently switched ISPs from Spectrum to Fios and it hasn't fixed, so it has led me to believe it's the router's fault. Any fixes?

What do the LEDs on the thing show when this happens?

Is it the Internet that dies or simply the wifi?

The the R7000's logs give any clues?

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

Good question.

Without the number, who knows? Too many people make that claim without knowing that Netgear's own system may be misleading them.

It is just the internet that is going out

My firmware is V1.0.9.88_10.2.88 and I've set it to auto update

I also have Fios so no modem

The lights don't indicate anything but I've noticed in the app it says "offline"
