As already explained, you do not need to roll back to older firmware to use ReadySHARE. It works just fine for me with the newest firmware. So it is possibly a problem at the user end.
Would you share steps you used to mount drive in windows/linux?
For me and OP, the old ways of mounting didnt work as soon as upgraded to .92 but downgrading back to .90 worked as before. So clearly there is something wrong with the update.
Thanks.

Ever since I updated the FW on R7800 router from .90 to .92, it has been showing few problems
Problem 1: The Readyshare harddisk can not be mounted on both windows and linux machines. I confirmed this by reverting to .90 FW version.
Problem 2: Suddenly not more than approx 20 devices could get internet but do connect to wifi. Again reverting to .90 fixed this.
Following is the Release notes of .92 FW version update and there is no mention on any update related to above problems. Time machine is an apple thing I think and it doesnt affect me.
Enhancements:
- Removed the legacy Time Machine backup feature.
Security Fixes:
- Fixes security vulnerabilities.
Any ideas what has really changed in this FW version and how we can fix the above problems?

Following post has the solution for the problem seen with new FW and network storage.
Basically password needs to be changed and reset back to original for the problem to go away. Not sure what is happening inside the FW to cause this issue.
No need to configure your network drive to be accessible without password with this solution.
Closing the loop.
