My RC6700 router has worked fine since new. My wireless connection to the internet still works normally.
However, My wired ethernet connection to the router results in a message on my iMac - "Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the Internet."
I have updated router firmware and checked what I can on NETGEAR Genie App, but problem persists.
This connection worked normally until recently. Is it possible that a Mac OS update or security update may have changed something?
Mac OS 10.11.6
Norton Security 6.6

I just let NETGEAR Genie complete network mapping (it took awhile), but that solved the problem. All devices (wired and wireless) are now properly connected.
Problem solved.

Re: Router Connects wirelessly to internet, but wired connection does not
Try another Ethernet cable.. Or. maybe Norton is blocking. Try disabling Norton, and see if you can an IP address, and get to the Internet.
EDIT: Also, try another LAN port on the router..
